Make All the Things! - Hands-on Herbal Medicine Class

  • The Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies Portland, OR (map)

Want to make your own herbal remedies? Learn how to make safe, effective, and sometimes even delicious (!) remedies out of medicinal plants using easy-to-find ingredients!

Missy will guide students through a hands-on crash course of her favorite medicinal preparations, highlighting the strengths of each one and sharing tips and tricks for making each well. Participants will learn the best methods to use for each kind of herbal remedy, and will get a detailed handout to take home about each one to have on hand for future medicine-making. This series is designed to impart a wealth of experience as well as a wealth of written, use-anytime instructions! Students will get to ingest or take home every remedy made in class.

At the end of the four-Saturday series, participants will have the tools and know-how to save money by making their own potent herbal remedies at home!

Class will be held at the instructor’s home in SE Portland on four consecutive Saturdays, April 22-May 13. Air purifiers and improved ventilation will be in use. Masks are welcome but not required. A detailed covid policy is sent to each registrant.

Cost for the full series is $195, and includes most herbal ingredients for medicine making. There is a sliding scale available; a work-trade position may be open as well. A modest scholarship is offered to BIPOC (Black people, Indigenous people, & people of color) students. Please inquire for details.
